Adams-Mahepath Scholarship
Each year, owners Dr. Lisa Adams Mahepath and husband, Joel Mahepath, select students across each Virgin Island district to receive a scholarship. They believe that investing in the education of young people is a key to upward mobility for their community. At the 2022 ceremony, Adams encouraged to the 14 recipients to continue to have a goal, work hard, not to forget where they come from and to “think about coming back to the Virgin Islands to make a difference.” Established in 2002, the scholarship fund has since awarded $521,000 to 223 students.

Dr. Lisa Adams-Mahepath is an experienced certified therapeutic optometrist who has been with Sterling Optical in Christiansted, VI since the store opened. She is the only optometrist allowed to practice at government clinics such as Charles Harwood Eye Clinic and Frederiksted Health Center. For the past 15 years she has served as Senior Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Optometry. She and her staff are dedicated to providing the community with exceptional eye care services and products.
